Iota Kappa Chapter

Every chapter of Alpha Phi is united by a single goal when it comes to philanthropy. Internationally, Alpha Phi’s philanthropy focuses on women’s heart health. As the Iota Kappa chapter of Alpha Phi, we organize various events to help raise money for Alpha Phi Foundation. Alpha Phi Foundation divides donations into several categories including women’s heart health, scholarships and leadership programs. Our chapter holds two main events to raise money and we have a lot of fun while doing it: Red Dress Gala (an elegant evening event), and Alpha Phifa (soccer tournament within the Greek community) .

The Iota Kappa chapter’s passion for donating time to community service is incredible. Our members go above and beyond by volunteering at numerous local organizations such as after school programs, food pantries, and hospitals. We want to be sure we support those in need and give back to our community through service.

Community Service

The Iota Kappa Chapter has a strong passion for donating time to our local community. From cooking at David's House, associated with the nearby Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, to fundraising and participating in the annual Prouty and ChaD races, sisters have made service a crucial focus of their experience in Alpha Phi. We believe that service is essential for unifying our sisters and making a positive, lasting impact on the community we live in!

Red Dress Gala

Philanthropy and service are cornerstones of Alpha Phi and are truly close to our heart. In 1956, Alpha Phi was the first women's fraternity to establish a foundation. Each year, the Alpha Phi foundation awards the Heart to Heart Cardiac Care grant to an organization focused on women't cardiac research.

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in America, and since its inception, the foundation has donated over one million dollars to this cause. At the Iota Kappa Chapter, we understand the importance of our Foundation's mission and we strive to contribute as much as we can to support women's heart health.

Yearly, we host  Red Dress Gala, an evening of dining, dancing, and silent auctions, to fundraise for the Alpha Phi Foundation. Friends, families, and alumnae are invited to enjoy, food, drink, and fun at the Hanover Inn.

Alpha Phifa

This year, we hosted our very first Alpha Phifa spring philanthropy event, and it was a huge success!

Held on Hitchcock and Gold Coast Lawns, over 30 teams came out to play in a competitive single elimination bracket for a chance to win the prestige of first place and a prize! Spectators were able to enjoy some music and a BBQ all afternoon long. Thanks to our competitors and sister volunteers, we were able to raise over $1600 this year for the Alpha Phi Foundation in support of cardiac health and disease prevention.

We had so much fun  and we are looking forward to hosting this event next year!
